"Rhythm In Blue"

Mixed media: drumsticks, clay, plaster, sand

74” x 44” x 2”

A calming study in rhythm and blue, inspired by the steady patterns of water and time. Rhythm in Blue is an invitation into stillness. Constructed from drumsticks pressed into clay and layered with plaster and sand, the piece transforms percussion into a quiet, tactile surface—where rhythm is no longer heard, but held.

The deep blue field draws from the divinely ordered rhythms found throughout the natural world. Rivers, oceans, and tides move in constant, faithful patterns across the globe, shaping landscapes through steady repetition rather than force. That same restraint is present here: parallel lines softened by erosion and interruption, echoing the way water forms beauty over time.

This work is meant to steady the viewer—to remind us that beneath the noise of life exists a rhythm already set, consistent and trustworthy. Calm, disciplined, and enduring, Rhythm in Blue offers a place of visual rest and quiet reflection.
