Where It All Started

My journey in this work began with an unexpected fusion: five wheat stalks—symbols of harvest—crafted from the broken innards of discarded pianos. What started as a small experiment became a calling—one that echoes my family’s history in missions and our shared love for the Nations.

That first wheat piece awakened something in me: the idea that what’s been overlooked or abandoned can be transformed into something that carries beauty, purpose, and a message.

This was the beginning of The Sound of the Harvest

Why Wheat? Why Pianos?

Wheat has always carried the language of Scripture—provision, calling, harvest, and the heart of God for people. Pianos hold sound, worship, and the stories of hands that played across them. Bringing these elements together became more than creativity. It became a prophetic picture of Matthew 9:37:

“The harvest is plentiful…”

These pieces are created to awaken us to the beauty, urgency, and invitation of the work set before us—locally, globally, and personally.

And as an extension of that heart:
10% of all profits from the Sound of the Harvest series go directly toward global missions.

  • Every piano carries its own fingerprint.
The hammers differ in color, size, and shape. The keys vary in length, form, and weight. Even the strings—each with their own thickness and tension—are completely unique.

When these distinct parts come together, they create something that can’t be replicated.

That’s why every “Sound of the Harvest” piece is truly one of a kind.

  • Some pieces call for more than piano parts alone.
Depending on the shape and character of the components, I may incorporate natural elements—sand, crushed shell, pine needles, or other textures—that enhance the movement and feel of the artwork.

These additions help each piece tell its story with greater depth and dimension.

  • Because each artwork has its own textures, forms, and personality, every piece receives a custom frame and finish.
This final, tailored touch brings everything together—creating a sense of balance, completeness, and visual resolve that’s unique to that specific work.
